With Ford 'pulling' the Jaguar brand out of Formula one it was up to the team to look at new funding opportunities to secure significant sponsorship to enable them to continue racing. There was interest from China, partly from the government and partly via two key potential partners.
The new team would become Team China Ford. We began by immersing ourselves in the history, the culture and incredible diversity of the country from historic Bejing to modern dynamic Shanghai.
The result was a set of key mood boards that formed the basis for all the team identity and livery work that followed. Two quarter scale models were built and veiled in embroidered silk prior to a formal presentation in Shanghai.
