Selected by the museum to design the exhibition brochure and an invitation for the private view, we centred our design concept on an idea that was irresistible in its simplicity - focussing on and the play on words of ‘AV’ and ‘V&A’. Paper merchant
GF Smith was the main sponsor of the exhibition, which meant we were in the fortunate position of having access to a wide range of fine quality papers. We used this to our advantage by choosing papers that would further communicate the essence of the exhibition - horizontally grained paper, known as ‘wove’ subtly captured an almost TV screen appearance complemented by translucent breaker pages. Metallic inks added sophisticated and shimmer to a piece of work that in itself had almost become a work of art!
