As Dame Ellen MacArthur’s high-performance Trimaran neared completion in Sydney, we were asked to review the design concept for the craft’s branded livery. Ellen's team didn’t believe they had a successful solution, but couldn’t explain exactly why. Kingfisher plc was already their longtime sponsor but this time the challenge was far more ambitious and the livery had to reflect that. And so it was, Ellen's team had already found its first big obstacle: how best to display Kingfisher’s two home improvement brands, B&Q and Castorama.
