High street fashion retailer, Oasis Stores commissioned Interstate to design the bottle and packaging for the launch of an exciting new perfume range aimed at a young female target audience. However, as the fragrance market had already been tested by other high street retailers with varying degrees of success, the brief for this perfume called for a brand identity which would have the credibility to compete with mainstream fragrances. In addition to product differentiation amongst it’s competitors, careful consideration needed to be given to the development of the bottle and packaging to appeal to two distinct audiences; not only would this fragrance need to appeal to its target market of fashion-conscious teenagers, but equally to their mum’s who were most likely to be the main purchaser.
