To celebrate the very first exhibition of Bernie Ecclestone’s personal collection of cars illustrating fifty years of Grand Prix racing history at the 2009 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, Interstate were commissioned by the Court of the Crown Prince to design and produce a limited edition commemorative ‘piece’ which would be presented to special VIP guests.

This occasion would be the very first time this collection of 24 cars would be seen together, therefore Interstate’s concept would revolve around these special vehicles being photographed as a collection on arrival at the circuit. Logistically, this proved a challenge as the photographer had only one day to shoot all of the cars.

The images then had to be selected, colour balanced, placed into the artwork, printed, bound and finished in time for the opening of the exhibition! This special memento, leather-bound and foiled book was presented to Bernie Ecclestone in a bespoke box embellished with a logo reminiscent of his humble beginnings.
