BBQ 25 is Adam Perry Lang's handy field guide which distills the "25 recipes that we cook 95 percent of the time". It is a handy field-guide that is finished in wipe-clean board so it can accompany the BBQ'er to the grill.

It is designed to be immediate, fool-proof and fun. As the majority of BBQ'ers are male, Interstate realised that they don't always respond to long instructions and prefer diagrams, so we devised a mix of traditional written instructions, but simple illustration to add simplicity and immediacy to the book.

To accompany it's launch in May 2010, Interstate were also tasked to create a microsite which gave more information about the book and offered the chance to sign up to Adam's database and Newsletter.

Since the launch, the book has featured on popular shows such as Rachel Ray and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

All of Adam's techniques and tools required were illustrated in a diagrammatical fashion to add to the instructional nature of the book. As men can be notorious for not following instructions, pictorial reference and short sentences enable the book to act as a field-guide rather than traditional recipe book.

Each type of food is divided into sections with strong textures associated with BBQ serving as a background. The cut of the animal is illustrated on each recipe to show where the meat comes from so the user can walk confidently into a butchers and request a specific cut.

The recipes are short, to the point and always feature as single spreads. However, they are distilled rather than diluted in content.

The construction of the book allows content to go across the centre and create a flat surface area. The pages are 'wipe-clean' board which means the book can be taken outdoors to the grill.

The book is accompanied with a BBQ 25 Microsite which offers interactive information, direct links to online retailers, a subscription to Adam's Newsletter and link to his main website, also created by Interstate.
